Bogus Phone Calls and SMS Sender ID Registration Scheme

We would like to alert customers of suspicious bogus phone calls claiming to be from Prudential Hong Kong Limited, Prudential Hong Kong Limited (Macau Branch) and Prudential General Insurance Hong Kong Limited (collectively referred to "Prudential") 

  • Please confirm the caller's identity and ask the caller to provide their full name and employee number. 
  • Please do not provide sensitive personal information such as your account and password for myPrudential

Bogus SMS

Beware of bogus SMS. Prudential will only send SMS to Hong Kong mobile number using a Registered SMS Sender ID that starts with "#Prudential". If you receive any suspicious SMS or links claiming to be from Prudential:

  • Do not click on any hyperlinks or provide any personal information in any suspicious messages 
  • Do not respond to any suspicious messages

SMS Sender ID Registration Scheme

Hong Kong:

To assist customers in verifying the authenticity of SMS sender, Prudential has joined the SMS Sender ID Registration Scheme managed by the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). Starting from 8 June 2024, all one-way SMS messages sent by the company (including life insurance, general insurance, and group insurance) will be sent under the following sender ID:

Please note that the SMS Sender Registration Scheme is not appliable to:

  • Overseas mobile number
  • SMS messages of which receiving parties are expected to reply to the senders via phone numbers (2-way SMS)
  • Local subscribers of Single-Card-Multiple-Numbers / One-Card-Two-Numbers mobile service provided by non-Hong Kong operators

 

Mainland China:

To assist customers in verifying the authenticity of SMS sender, Prudential has registered the SMS Sender ID in Mainland China.
